Stick It Down - October 2014

Here's my October layout with Stick It Down. today what I have here is a tribute to one of my favorite delicacy. This is a photo of Penang Rojak, a traditional Asian fruit and vegetable salad with some cuttlefish. It is one of my favorite since I was young. So, coming back to the layout, I had created the background with a few layers of mists of stencils and some newsprint stamping. And added the photo to the DIY background. Do check out the site for other inspirations by the talented bunch at Stick It Down! Come play along & have fun!

Mindi Goll Brown

This is my take for Let's Scrap DT call. This is a very old photo of #1, when he's just between 1-2 years old. Oh.. how I miss that cute round face! Now he's all grown up! For this layout, I did some misting with some Glimmer mists and topped the layers with OA papers and washi tapes. Woohoo.. yes, happy dance, another term! Check out the rest of the lovely DT members' creations on site!

Stick It Down - September 2014

Here's my Sept layout with Stick It Down, and guess what? This is a photo of snowskin mooncake filled with mango and pomelo. Yummy! Again, this background is one of the mass misting done in a night. I did alternate misting with Dylusions to create for alternate colors but not quite getting the sunburst outcome, and added a mask somewhere on the page. The page came out pretty monochromatic - in the ORANGY manner! Do check out the site for other inspirations by the talented bunch at Stick It Down! Have fun!

Let's Scrap - Random Layout

Well, this was supposed to be for the BINGO challenge hosted by Susanna at Let's Scrap.  My boo boo that I didn't use the sketch 3-3-10 as prerequisite. The above I had used 5-1-14, so I had the layout re-done. Anyway, I chose 2 pictures, stamping, Numbers and no patterned paper. I had used a doodle from #2 during our vacation back in Penang and a family photo taken 2 years ago. Also for this challenge I had incorporated Tutorial #2 to create own tape with stamping over Nexcare micropore tape, as part of the requirement of the challenge. Come play along and have fun at Let's Scrap!

Noteables : Chervon stencil from TCW, Lots of Dylusions, Technique Tuesdays Stamps, Versafine inks, Let's Scrap sketch  5-1-14 <<< You are supposed to use 3-3-10

Let's Scrap DT Challenge #192 (8-22-14)

Here's my take for the BINGO challenge hosted by Susanna at Let's Scrap.  One of the prerequisite is to use sketch # 3-3-10. I chose the vertical column of 2 pictures, stamping, Numbers and no patterned paper. This is a photo of the boys years ago, reading and messing up the books at the same time. This is definitely not the worst scene but nonetheless, love that toothy smile from #1. Also for this challenge I had incorporated Tutorial #4 and Tutorial #57 incorporate gesso to create a lighter tone in the image and free hand doodling around the lighten gesso area. You only need to have ONE tutorial, not two! Come play along and have fun at Let's Scrap!

Let's Scrap - DT Challenge191

Here's my take on DT Challenge 191 at Let's Scrap. Mindi had posted this challenge 2 weeks ago, I hadn't really thought how to do it until today. So, after I fixed a blunder yesterday and my hunch tells me I GOT TO DO THIS today before the closure. I GOT TO create a layout for this challenge. And so today, after my short nap while putting the kids to bed, I crawled out of bed and started work to put this together. I certainly had fun.. now I pray that the papers/tapes and photos would stay in tact by the time the gesso dries up!
