Kiddy cards part II

Ok, from some quite dull plain cards, we boosted the cards with kiddy seals/stickers and tada, something more wacky and bright! And just to show what we had assembled on the front of the card. The gifts this year - 10 teachers would get little bottle of shower foam and a card each; and 6 lucky ones as selected by #1, would get the special limited edition altered clipboard with drawing (comes with a card each too!) All mommie did was cut the paper for him to draw/color and momie outlined the bugs and tape them onto clipboards from Daiso.  I am proud of what he drew... and nope he has NEVER seen any Tim Holtz buggy stamps.

Thrusday's Up! - Animated

Animated
"You are who you choose to be. Superman'". Well, superman is not. but rather the quote "You are who you choose to be" from the movie The Iron Giant, inspires this card. This week 365cards - Pay tribute to your favorite animated character.  You don't have to use the character, but some attribute at least should be represented on your card.  Let us know which character you chose and why. Come play along for the ANIMATED theme on 365cards!

Let's Scrap 9-5-12

This is the layout for Let's Scrap this week. Remember to tag your layout as 9-5-12 when you upload your work onto the site. OK, here's the story for this. I printed these together with some 70+ of photos back in April2012. Some of these cards are made for the Feb card blog hop at Let's Scrap. Now I'm scrapping them in a layout! Long overdue, isnt? Looking back at what I had done back in Feb-Mar2012 timeframe versus what I had done with the layout, my style has evolved and I would think it is pretty different. This is me, today.

I did spend some time thinking what to do for this week's sketch. As usual, I took a long time to choose some photos from the stack and decided on these craft related ones. I started off with the stencil and flipped it over while the mists are still wet on the stencil to create a different effect on the opposite side of the paper. Love the process of misting and watching the inks blend. Left the wet papers to dry on the newspaper while I figured out what to do next! Since I have a lot of must-use Stamper Anonymous stamps in my stash, I reckon just take one of them out for this week (AGAIN)! Oh yes why the 4 different brands of patterned papers, it's because I wanted to enter for a local Singapore crafters challenge. So I took randomly from my scrap leftovers, punched and tore them. In order for them to blend in, I inked and blended. I ended up blending and inking more and more! So anyway, this is MY STYLE! May be I'll do something different next week, who knows!

Kiddy cards!

Thought I should also share what I crafted with the kids over 2 weeknights. These are 10 teachers' day cards made mainly by Shawn. Dylan contributed a little finger print to each of the cards. I did help, by cutting the washi tapes and pasting them onto the card. The stamps and inks that we used were kids friendly from Melissa & Doug. #1 insisted of "MIXING", seriously I would have fainted if these were done with my precious ink pads! :) Then I asked both the kids to finger print with their index fingers on all the cards. Originally I wanted them to print wings too, to make them into butterflies. Well, Dylan had no patience and Shawn insisted of making it crittery image. I lifted this idea from Ed Emberley. Added the outline with my black Sharpie. Thought the alphas are all over the place, but I thought they still look cute and unique (of course!) Hope the teachers would like the cards!

SBM ATC July 2012 Final reveal

July2012 cupcake ATC was hosted by Lena Liew. Here is the sweet bunch of ATCs that came in a couple of days ago. Here is close up one of the cupcake . It took some mists, 1/4 of a paper doilly, one stamp, texture paste, UHU glitter glue (photo was taken before I pasted the star :) Can't bake, I think should be able to pass off as a cupcake! :)
