Mini - Concertina Bound

This is what I did a gift for friend's son birthday. The card was made a while ago during the Let's Scrap blog hop so over the past few nights the hours were spent on the mini album. Coincidentally over the weekend, Tip Junkie had a post on great paper craft home made mini albums. I looked through the post and saw Bee in Our Bonnet post on Concertina fold spine album. I have never done Concertina bound album before so I gave it a try.

* Friday night I rummaged throught my paper stash, 1/2 hr just to select 4 patterned paper @_@, did the cut outs and glueing; and have the album stacked under some heavy books.
* Saturday night time was spent on cracking my head how to patch 'open wound' pages due to overglueing - I ended up patching them with washi tapes. And also did some decoration with rubons.
* Sunday night I made the cover for the album.

Thrusday's Up! - DIY

DIY
365cards challenge this week is DIY - This "Do it Yourself" challenge is to use a sticker or stickers to create your own embellishment. For example, you can add it to chipboard and do some fussy cutting. Stick it on a button or ribbon to enhance an existing embellishment.

This week's sponsor is SRM Stickers. There is a whole lot of creative crafting ideas on that site, so do check it out. I received the package in time to create the card for this week. So here's my take on the tube is from the sponsor.. yes it is! It's my 1st time seeing tubes being used for crating. So I decided to give it a try to use the Baby Girl theme borders along with the tube. Since my challenge is to make an embellishment, I added in the tube some mini pegs with some washi tapes and added a SRM sticker to one of the pegs. Outside the tube are PP, some washi tape, twine and SRM stickers. Hope you like the idea of my DIY embellishment :P

Supplies :
* 5 different SRM Stickers
* Washi tapes from Made With Love (LSS) and Classiky
* PP from Echo Park Country Drive
* Mini pegs from Daiso
* The Twinery Blossom
* Button from October Afternoon
* Camera stamp from RAK

My washis!

My favorite items in scrapbooking, still is and will always be WASHI tapes

Yes, for the MEANTIME these are what I have at home. I tore minimal strips and pasted them onto thrift shop cards and catalogued them up in series/brands. Just for my own keepsake!
For some eye candy sake I sorted them by color, lovely isnt?

Thrusday's up! - All Smiles

All Smiles

365cards challenge this week is to feature an image on your card that depicts a great big smile. Well, I must confess I do not have any big circle punch yet(one and only 7/8" punch is way too small) and I spoilt the circle cutter that I have. So I took a roll of tape and traced, cut and halved it. This should pass as a big smile on a small 4x6 card :) I left the SMILE with no stamps/pattern or any sort of decoration because I wanted to keep the rest of the items in the card BUSY. I had always wanted to try this, to create a background using corrugated cardboard with inks. It took me awhile to tear out the cardboard for the texture to appear, snipped a little with scissors and trimmed a little with pen knife. Then I whopped out 2 colors and just dabbed the ink pads on the cardboard. Anyway I'm happy and I do like the outcome as the card isn't the girly girl kind of card.
Supplies :
* Corrugated cardboard box
* Black and white cardstock
* White pigment ink pen from Uniball Signo Broad - for the eyes
* Tim Holtz distress inks - Bundled Sage / Walnut Stain
* Authenthique Blissful 6x6pad - Paradise paper
* Washi tapes from Amy Tangerine and MT Kamoi Tape
* Maya Road canvas button
* Stamped Ticket from RAK - with my handwritten SMILE
* My Mind's Eye 6x6 Designer Paper Pad Out of the Blue - Heart shape cut out

Liebster Blog Award - 3rd!

Thank you Asmah for nominating me for Liebster Blog award. My 3rd :) Here's to pass on the Liebster Award to 5 fellow 365cards Design team member
As quoted in my previous posts, the origins of the Liebster Blog Award are somewhat unclear but general consensus is that they originated in Germany. Liebster, meaning favorite or dearest, is here to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting this award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs that have 200 or less followers.

So show them some love :)

Organizing my stash - I love Daiso

I took sometime to organize my stash last night. First thing first, washi tapes get the priority and then inks and mists. I did not organize emblishments, die cuts, rubons, papers. Just the little stuff that I figured would be better in containers. Oh yes, all the containers here are from Daiso... I love Daiso!

Most of the containers are not filled to the brim. :)
1. Metal accesories from Beadspin
2. Brads with no glitter
3. Brads with glitter, gromlets and eyelets
4. Wooden tiles and wooden buttons

5. Rubber stamps, mainly Unity ones
6. Acrylic stamps
7. Rubber wood mount stamps
8. Sewing stuff - floss, threads
9. Washi, paper and fabric tapes
10. Washi tapes from MT and Classiky and also the mini range

Another 2 boxes are for inks pads and mists

Pretty in PINK!

It's a challenge indeed to use 3shades of PINK! Really.. I'm not a very big fan of pink! The stack of Fancy Pants Beach Babe which I got, well, I got it mainly because it was on sales online and it was not ALL PINK but rather distressed looking papers.. Today I peeled of 2 sheets of 6x6 paper and got one of the punched. I took out the pink Sharpie but decided not to use it, otherwise my handwritten sentiment would probably be left unoticed. Here is the outcome, simply SO pink!

Supplies :
* Fancy Pants Beach Babe
* Martha stewart edge punch
* Button from October Afternoon
* Baker's Twine Cotton Candy
