Scrapbook Market ATC exchange - Feb 2012 final reveal

The theme for Feb2012 ATC exchange is HEART and I wanted to try something 'arty' and different. And yup, all cards turned out really different!
1. I did a background stamp using 7Gypsies stamp using TH Stormy Sky
2. Added the hearts stamp from Hero Arts using TH Barn door ink and misted with water at the bottom left, hoping that the blue and the red would some how blend in.
3. I tested to blotch the OA Hopscotch ink with mini straw (from thrift shop Daiso), some came to be quite big blotches and took awhile to dry up
4. Then splattered a little OA Lemon Drop.
5. For the the twine, it's from from The Twinery, I tied a knot, dipped into some glue (with added some water) and shaped a heart shape onto the card.

Supplies :
* 7 Gypsies - Lille Collection - Clear Acrylic Stamps
* Hearts stamp from Hero Arts
* Tim Holtz distress ink Stormy Sky and Barn Door
* Pink Hopscotch Sprinklers and Yellow Lemon Drop from October Afternoon (mini straw from a local thrift shop for the blotch)

Scrapbook Market ATC exchange - Jan 2012 final reveal

As mentioned in my previous posts, I was supposed to post on what I did for SBM ATC exchange Jan2012. And yes, this is the FIRST ATC exchange which I took part in. Frankly speaking I was not even aware that there is such arty exchange amongst crafters until I joined a local interest group on Facebook with a bunch of local scrappers. The package should arrive later today, can't wait to see the rest of the 13pieces of ATC and lay my hands on them! I had bought a folder from stationery shop to keep these cards. For keepsake!

So here's what's done to make this Jan2012 ATC, themed Friendship:
1. Firstly I used Tim Holtz distress ink Bundle Sage for the background stamp. Then misted with water at one edge
2. When it's dried I used Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist Abdominal Snowman to add some glitter, spritzed some at one side of the card to add some bling to the card.
3. I stamped Technique Tuesday friend stamp with Stazon Jet Black ink
4. Added the smaller circular stamp from Hero Arts (offset from the centre from the bigger circular stamp) with TH Forest Moss ink. My stamping skills aren't too yet (need more practise!) so some of the HA stamp were not clear/missing from the card.
5. So I decided to try to hide the blunder by adding the little red heart, punched from patterned paper
Supplies :
* Tim Holtz distress ink Bundle Sage & Forest Moss
* Background rubber script stamp from NBC local stationery shop
* Hero Arts Friends mini round stamp
* Mini Carla heart stamp
* Red Polka PP from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Designer Paper Pad Out of the blue

I experimented with Tim Holtz Distress Picket Fence Crackle Paint. I took out Jonathan mini alphas from Maya Road and dabbed Staz on evenly before deciding to slap on some crackle paint on it. It took a long time before I saw anything. So I used heat gun to speed up the and finally see the effect. It did crack but not as much I had wanted it to. Here's the close up...
Tonight's layout is based on Let's Scrap Design Team call sketch 4-4-12

Supplies :
* 12x12 Bo Bunny Ad lib
* October Afternoon Wildcards and rubons
* Maya Road Jonathan mini alphas
* Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint
* Studio Calico chipboard buttons
* Graphic45 Le Cirque border
* Washi tape

Load7 Love Me

After the card that I did, I decided to do a 12x12 page for part of my
PL2012. This is based Let's Scrap for Challenge130 using sketch from 2-22-12. The photos of the boys were taken during a car ride for breakfast on 29Jan2012. It's funny how many shots were taken during that one minute when I turned around looking at them 'bickering'. Shawn seemed to have won the battle just look at his victorious face and Dylan was looking 'stuffed'!

Supplies :
* 12x12 PP Bo Bunny Ad Lib
* PP 7Gypsies The Journey Morceaux
* Classiky Old book masking tape
* All stamps from Unity stamps
* Ink from Tim Holtz distress inks walnut stain, crushed olive, iced spruce; Staz-on Blazing red. Jenni Bowlin Brown Sugar
* Martha Stewart large butterfly punch
* Sharpies, Brads from Making Memories and a bead string for decoration

I received the Liesbter Blog award for the 2nd time, now from a scrappy friend on Facebook Dorcas. The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are somewhat unclear but general consensus is that they originated in Germany. Liebster, meaning favorite or dearest, is here  to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting this award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs that have 200 or less followers.

Here are the next 5 fellow scrappers whom I would like to pass this to :

Leap32 SplitSplat ENJOY!

Today I took on Susanna's blog at Leap32. Here's the link to the sketch

I started out by splattering with Mister Hueys for the 1st time and I just realised the ink were so difficult to dry up even with the heat gun. Supplies : PP from American Craft, Echo Park and Cosmo Cricket, The Twinery twines Maraschino and Peapod, Mister Hueys - Overdue, Estate Green, Custard; Ink from Staz-on and Inkadinkado Coffee Bean, Happy Birthday Ribbon from a bundle deal from Spotlight, heart shape is cut out from self adhesive felt from thrift shop

Project Life 2012 Week1

Join me at the Let's Scrap blog hop. Click here to the post

Tonight I finally completed week1 1-8Jan2012 of Project Life... I'm still not sure what my style is like.. really! I wanted to incorporate some journaling but I think the photos took up lots of space on the page. This page looks simple but I needed time to think what to do with the photos and figure out what to stamp, which stamps to use because I'm really a very slow scrapper. I really hope my engine would quicken as I take on PL2012 and quality of work improves along the practice session

As mentioned in older post, I am happy and honored to receive the Liebster Blog Award from fellow Let's Scrap host Sharon Fritchman. Here is what's planned for my debut on Project Life - Jan2012

I ordered the first bunch of photos from Snapfish last Thrusday and today they had arrived. I think I over did it. :) Tonight we had a very rough time with #2 and that worn us out a lot. So, I didn't get much done other than cropping the half of the stack of photos and tried to lay them out with the photo protectors that I have. Oh... right one more thing, I promise I would post the 5 blogs of Liebster award tomorrow. I'm drained, totally drained mentally and physically. Good night folks..

Monday, February 6, 2012

This SHALL stay at the top till 29Feb2012, come on and join me in the HOP. Make you cards and remember to post them at Let's Scrap .
