Special Investigator at CSI#77

This is my layout as special investigator at CSI, case #77.  I started off with white textured cardstock and did some happy stamping, misting, stained the bricks over stencil, then more stamping. My end result is nothing girly, a typical me layout! My evidences include envelope, jute, something transparent, woodgrain pattern and fabric. My testimony this week is to document a wedding, well part of it - on the bouquet. This beautiful bouquet was taken at a friend's wedding, many years after we had ours. That reminded me whether what sort of flower I had wanted on our wedding day. I said "I had wanted" mainly because I was the decision maker on the decorations at the venue of the dinner. One of the difficult decision making point is to decide on the decoration of the venue. Our wedding dinner was held back in Penang, Malaysia and most planning was done via phone and whatever photos which the hotel could provide me with. Oh well, nonetheless, I didn't choose blue roses because 2nd march in gown was light blue. I probably would be looking like the decoration bouquets!

Special Investigator at CSI#75

I am thrilled when Debbi dropped me an email to be one of the Special Investigators for the month on June on CSI! So here am I and this one is a challenge. I'm not a very girly pastel girl. so I made this wedding layout as I had wanted it to be, more rugged. And hey I had never scrapped a single photo from my wedding, this would be my first:)

My evidences include lace, chevrons, flowers, wood and distressing.  Testimony - add jewel to this layout. The title and journaling is based on a song by Etta James At Last. Oh well, I never knew Etta James or what song she sings. Seriously, I was at the verge of choosing some other more known wedding songs. I happen to chance upon this song from a CD I bought to play at the wedding and I totally love her voice the moment I heard this song. We chosed this song was the march in song at the wedding dinner. Since this song was memorable to us at the wedding, I decided to use one line of the lyrics as the journaling, which was also meaningful to me as *thankfully* the day passed quite smoothly and hence life is like a song, a bliss. Do drop by CSI for more details on the challenge and come play along!

Random Layout - CSI#73

Here's my take on CSI#73 with a Let's Scrap October Afternoon sponsored challenge.  Evidences that I have included are trees, put something upside down, clocks and architectural accents. Testimony is document an outing and use multiple photos and create captions for each. My theme for this layout is basically based on one of the  Sundays when we went out of the house (and into the sun), sometimes to the park. I took some photos of the the kids having some 'hairy' (root) encounter at Botanic Gardens for the 1st time. We spent quite some time there as kids were curious and was just looking at the creepers/the roots hanging above them. The little one tried to jump and wondering if his head would touch the roots hanging on top. The big one was just staring in amazement how on earth did the roots get there.

Let's Scrap NSD13#23 No Photo Challenge

Inspired by Erica's layout and playing along with her challenge, here's my take on white cardstock. And this layout that I make is for the challenge that I'm hosting a challenge over at Let's Scrap. Life kind of got in the way, and instead of recycling my old layout from my past challenge#146....

I made this one.
This is a note from #1's class teacher. Read it and you'd know why I used the title. This is fairly quick layout A couple of misting here and there, 3 stencils and 4 colors. Stuck on the OA stickers and voila! The deal of this challenge - no photos allowed. You may use notes, love notes, ephemera.. so long as it is photoless! Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Hop by Let's Scrap for fun filled NSD May activities!

Random Layout - CSI#71

Here's my take on CSI #71.  I've got all the colors required for the challenge. Evidences for the challenge include bicycle accent, circles, birds, hearts, music notes, ink/paint splatters. The time faces symbolizes frozen time and snapshot of the boys yakking happily at the gardens. Hope the flight of growing up would be smooth and beautiful for them. The testimony that I have chosen is use a song title or lyrics as a jumping off point. The song that I had chosen is one of YT's favorite band, The Beatles and the song title as dorn on the layout title I Want to Hold Your Hand.

Random Layout - CSI#70

This is my take on CSI#70 coupled with water challenge over at Let's Scrap. I started off with a plain white cardstock with permanent Jet Black and overlay with some Distress pink ink and Hero Arts green. Of course there was some misting over on this page with Dylusions and added some watered down effect just below the washi tapes flowers. Evidences that I have on my layout are flowers, distressing, wood, paint. My testimony : The butterfly signifies new life in spring. Spring brings new hope, abundance of hope and fresh ideas to tackle hurdles of life.

Hope you like my layout as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Random Layout - CSI #69

Here's my take this week to CSI challenge, combined with NSD Challenge at Let's Scrap. Evidences on this layout includes : circle graph (inspired by wheels), circles, metal, ledger paper, jewels (inspired by Mr. T's necklaces). The testimony consists of the title that says FAB TEE - which is quite an unlikely match of Spiderman (men) and Popeye. I wrote the quote on part of the pie chart. The pie chart is a cut out of circular stencil. The quote is from Roald Dahl Fantastic Mr Fox. It reads "I understand what you're saying, and your comments are valuable, but I'm gonna ignore your advice.” The incident was as #2 going to bed, he took out the spidey stickers and started to play with them So I said to #2, no Spidey stickers on your shirt. And he went on and on sticking them onto his shirt. The next morning  this is what I saw. Of course my comments were ignored!
