This layout is linking up Sketch with Color 1st DT call as well as local crafter group Moments Recorded - Scrapbook Challenges. The inspiration for this layout is based on 3 items from the advert
chosen ie. texture, colors green/blue and tag. I took this photo of #2, taken when he's just about a year + old. The process started off with some spritzing then I grabbed the texture paste, dabbed some stamps from Tim Holtz Mixed Media set while the paste is still wet. Hmmm.. I don't actually like the idea of seeing some texture paste on the next day left on the stamp :P Anyway to continue on, I added some stamping with the same set of stamps, smeared (mess) up the stickles glitter with my fingers and finished with the little details. I think I took a long time to complete this simple looking layout but I'm happy with the results. :)

The challenge on 365cards this week is to use a quotation on your card and use an item or image that is related to the quotation. I used a quote which was related to notes. So there you have Notes, note backgroup and some grid washis... they are related :) Do hop over and join us at 365cards

This week at Let's Scrap is a card sketch. Or you could turn it into a layout as well, up to you how you want to play with the sketch. This is how I made my card :
1. Stamped Lawn Fawn's chevron stamp to make the background
2. Taped the washis around the card - all washis are from MT (this and that)
3. Stamped My favorite Things - Congratulations onto OA label
4. Stuck some October Afternoon stickers and that little pennant from my scrap papers file
5. Doodled some stitches
This is meant to be a newborn baby boy card. Not that sort of sweet BABY BLUE card, but rather a strong masculine edge. Hope you like it :) Do join in the fun at Let's Scrap and remember to tag your creation as 10-17-12
I just made my 1st Christmas card tonight, well for this year.

I'm thrilled! MandyKay from PaperIssues had just dropped a note on my email and on my blog that I got featured on PaperIssues!!! It's the Autumn Leaves card that I did for Kaboodle Doodles DT. Wohooo!
This is my first DT challenge which I set for Let's Scrap. Let's go PHOTOLESS and of course this comes with a couple more restrictions. There are couple more restrictions that I set in the challenge. Details as follows :
1. No photos allowed (You may use greeting card, postcards, brochures, movie tickets, love notes, kids doodles, whatever sort of ephemera)
2. You MUST use a CARD sketch and to turn into a layout. Check out the sketches here in this folder. http://letsscrap.ning.com/photo/albums/lets-scrap-card-sketches
3. No stitching/stamps/stencil/misting/ink/paint/texture paste/crayon/acrylic paint (this is a challenge for me!)
4. Only one punch is allowed (you can use this punch as many times as you want on your layout)
5. MUST HAVE your own handwriting somewhere on the layout
6. MUST HAVE at least one diecuts or chipboard on your layout
7. MUST HAVE 2 patterned paper only - excluding the base
One winner, chosen at random, will receive a RAK from me. Happy Scrapping!*** You can have as many buttons, tapes, stickers, journal cards, ribbons, twine etc on your layout. A lot of room to play with, right? So rummage through your stash now and go on and have fun scrapping
Here are the details on that little note - what seemed to be a historic moment that teacher commented that Dylan's being nice in school! Ok, back to scrappy business here... No stamp/ink/mist/stencil is a little tough for me. And this is the first photoless layout I'm making. I decided to use those OA stickers that I got from last year's Santa Sacks and I had LOTS of FUN putting them all around the page and layering them, though they end up looking pretty flat :). My recipe of my layout as follows :
1. No photo, just a note from daycare teacher that my kid was behaving nice
2. 1 6x6 paper from Fancy Pants Off to School and 1 scrap piece from Echo Park
3. Swiss Cheese EK Success punch and used the punched out circles to add to the page. I didn't waste!
4. My handwriting on the little "About me" label
and the rest are 1 chipboard conversation bubble, 1 journaling card, 1 Smash tape, 1 airmail slim MT tape, tonnes of stickers and of course glue :)
As usual I can barely scrap anything in straight line, just got to do it an angle somehow (excuse!). Hope you think this is a fun layout too!
Be sure to tag your layout correctly: challenge146 (all one word), followed by a comma, a space, and the card sketch number you used. My tag will read: challenge146, 5-18-11
Wow, this is indeed the longest post on my craft blog to date. Thanks for reading my novel :) Oh yes, one more thing, the October LayOut-A-Day (LOAD) is now on. Hop over and join us for it.
The challenge at 365cards today is to use an item that depicts a container of some sort on your card. We have EAD designs as sponsor this week. Lucky us we got some yummy stickers to use to showcase our cards. Here's my take this week. Simply 2 Lily Bee Design patterned papers, some Unity stamps and EAD stickers. Hop on over to 365cards and join us!

Here's my take on Let's Scrap this week. Would
you consider **very** inky, textured and tonnes of layers of layers of
colors stamps on this layout? Yup it is! I enjoyed the process of
making this layout thou and getting my fingers stained! I took a week or so
to complete this as I scrapped only at night when the kids are asleep.
The theme behind this layout ... oh well, I feel #1 is growing up.. too fast. He's just 4+ going 5, but time flies... real fast. Photos of him
taken in 2012 all lined up here. Most of the time he's wearing that
green Ben10 shirt on weekends because that used to be his favorite shirt
(until he outgrew it). I know I'm not a clean line scrapper and I'm
still experimenting all sorts of techniques. All of my layout comes out
differently all the time! Hop on to Let's Scrap for the fun and remember to tag your layout with the sktech number 10-3-12
