This is my
take on Let's Scrap sketch this week. I did a one page of the photos of
the little duo again. These photos were taken at Sushi Tei, during one of the first few experience with kappamaki for #2. And of course that look on #1 when he caught the whiff of wasabi. Nonetheless, my kids now love Japanese food but #2 is still not very fond of sushi or maki as much as #1. Originally for this layout, I created the background for Let's Scrap. Do check out the tutorial right here. Do drop by and join us for the great fun Let's Scrap. Remember to tag your creation as 7-10-13
Noteables : Distress stain Weathered wood/Antique Linen, Distress Inks Pumice Stone/Bundled Sage/Tea Dye/Walnut Stain, VersaMagic Wheat/Sahara Sand, Stamps from Impression Obsessions/Stampers Anonymous/Maya Road, Alpha stickers from Lily Bee Design and Bo Bunny

Let's Scrap DT Tutorial Kissed Stamped background
This week I am sharing a tutorial at Let's Scrap. Do head over for more details. In short what you would need is a solid stamp and a texture stamp for this for the background. It would have been just one solid color is stamped with just once. The purpose of the texture stamp is to add some interest to the solid stamp. I did this for the background and the title work for one the cards.
Basically I did this :
* Ink solid stamp with a lighter color, then
* Ink texture stamp with a darker color and then stamp onto paper
Easy peasy, same set of stamps, 2 different looks. Try that on your layouts too!
Noteables : Stamps : Simon says Stamps Absolutely Delightful/Kaisercraft Music Sheet/Impression Obssession Newsprint/Stamper Anonymous Floral Tattos, Hero Arts Shadow Ink Stonewash/Grape Juice/Bubble Gum/Pool/Royal Red, Let's Scrap card sketch 7-18-12

Let's Scrap DT Tutorial
This is my first tutorial for design team work at Let's Scrap. I had made this 'layering' tutorial. When I first started scrapbooking, I have the impression that layering has to be piles and piles of paper, flowers and embellishments. Then I learn that layering in another meaning could be work of piles of inking/stamping etc, so it doesn't necessarily need to have that 3d physical effect.
Anyway for this, here are the layers that I have in my layout
1. Washi tapes - for me as a grid and also to matting the photo
2. Bubble masks misted with Dylusions. flipped it over not to waste the ink, and use it at the bottom corner, creating a negative print
3. Graph mask with Dylusions - to add another interest point to the layout. I misted on the top right and on the bottom right (no negative mask for this). I also splattered the inks around the pages.
4. Stamping with a kitchen roll with distress ink- just to add some fun to it *** think repurpose ***
5. Jute - to add the 3d effect to the layer. I twisted the bunch of jute twice and tied a knot somewhere. I like the pop up effect :)
I used 3D glue dots since the bunch of jute has already bulk up the page. I tucked the knot somewhere underneath the photo. So ta da... a simple, inky, splatter layout.
Noteables : Bazzil White smooth 12x12, American Craft jute, Dylusions Lemon Zest/Cut Grass/Post Boxed/London Blue, Distress ink Barn Door, Studio Calico Bubble/Graph masks, Classiky graffiti washi tapes, Bo Bunny Ad Lib alpha stickers, October Afternoon Very Merry Word Sticker
Photo was taken during a Christmas party in 2010, Kid was looking at his presents :)
