Let's Scrap DT Challenge 2-7-14

Here's my take fellow DT member Jamie at Let's Scrap. The challenge is to use Trendy Twine (or just twine) on your layout as an embellishment. You can use your twine to tie off a tag but that can't be the only way to use it. We want to see twine in at least 2 other places on your layout. Do come along a play at Let's Scrap!

Let's Scrap 1-15-14

Here's my take on Let's Scrap sketch 1-15-14. I did clean line, one page with the sketch. Photos were taken at Jones The Grocer. As you can see, it's our kids' favorite fruit salad featured in the layout. I had used mainly MME papers and saved the edges of the paper for the title work. I do love the busy papers indeed! Let's Scrap DT Challenge

I'm back again for the 5th term at Let's Scrap and am hosting the 1st challenge this term.

Here's a photos inspired challenge. This is a scanned photo from my own collection taken in 2001, from The Small Cloister in Westminster Abbey. Do check out Let's Scrap for more details of the challenge and how other DT members interpreted the challenge.

I'm using a card sketch from 2-13-12 for this layout and plenty of Dylusions and Gelato. I go for the colors and vines (curly twine and thread) , water (dripping paint and water color effect) and fountain border (which I intepreted as a frame)

Random Layout - Scrap Africa#21 + Skissedilla#225

Here's my take on Scrap Africa challenge#21  - to use washi tape and twine and coupled with Skissedilla sketch #225. I started off with some washi tapes, an old plastic card, had a few rounds of pouring of paint onto the card, turned the cardstock around and watched the paint dripped. Then I picked up drippy paint with plastic card from the base before they soak through and swipe it back onto the cardstock. There you go, I have a background and this is one great experiment how far I could go without stencils! Washi tapes kind of blended in in the background but you could see clearly a small blue tape just behind the cake. :) Last but not least I had I had added some stamping and twine to complete this layout.

Let's Scrap 3-20-13

This week at Let's Scrap we have a card sketch 3-20-13. I made this card to send it off to Switzerland for my sister in law's newborn baby girl. Hope that this card would be safe kept until the little one grows up!

This layout is for Skissedilla sketch200 . The color palette challenge that I'm tagging along for this layout is for CSI #61. There is plenty of taming down of Dylusions with H2O and some drips from October Afternoon Tin Type. I have evidences of plain white background, string (twine), buttons and butterflies. The title and journaling is inspired by this prompt.

This IS almost a year old's photo. A photo of kid #1 taken at Taiping zoo during our trip back to Malaysia for Chinese New Year in 2012. I love his grin in this photo. Ooo yes those new stuff that I used on this page is the distress metallic stains. Love them!

I was excited as I finally received the DRS rubber stamps which arrived at my mailbox yesterday, just in time to create for the challenge today. Today at 365cards, tbe challenge is to use FIVE layers somewhere on your card. Here's mine. There we have a few layers of papers, twine, fabric border and stamp.
